| So where did the residents of Biggin Hill get the fuel for their cars in 1955? On Main Road, at a point where Madison's night club is, was West Kent Motor Company. No large forecourt to drive on, just pull up at the pavement and they'll do the rest - no self service in those days. The proprietor was Mr. Harold (Punch) Crouch (see Tabernacle wedding). | Another view of West Kent Motors, this time in the snow taken in 1968. But can someone please explain why the 705 to Sevenoaks is going in that direction (North)? Perhaps Westerham Hill snowed under and it had to come back. |
