The Raj Restaurant

This page shows that 'THEN' doesn't mean that it has to be OLD. I took the Then photo in 2001.

A familiar landmark, as you enter the center of Biggin Hill, was the Raj indian restaurant. It served Biggin Hill well for 25 years. Before then the building was used for 'Anne's Pantry', a tea room that was painted a vivid blue.

It was demolished in the mid noughties to be replaced by a housing complex named 'Ray Hanna Apartments' after the RAF pilot, Red Arrows leader (in the 60's) and a regular at Biggin Hill airshows displaying the Spitfire brilliantly who died 1st December 2005.
