This is the original Black Horse. Waiting outside is the Capon bus that went from Biggin Hill to Orpington Station. This building stood until 1908 when it was demolished to be replaced by the present building, much of the rubble from the demolition was used to fill the up the pond in Village Green. The building on the right, Mead House, has now been replaced by a new Mead House.

The new picture at the end shows what an impact the new Mead House has made on this scene now.
