The Mill House, Main Road

On the corner Edward Road where it meets Main Road is 'The Mill House'. There was in fact a working windmill here called 'Pimlico Mill' up until 1879. Although the mill had been dismantled by the time this picture was taken about 1908, the roof timbers of one of the derelict barns can still be seen on the left. Although the writing on the side wall has been covered over these buildings are still recognisable today but obscured by large trees from this angle.

This area of Biggin Hill was once called Pimlico. The reason for this is unknown. Do you know?

The '1903 Property Book' also shows two views of Mill House (and Mill Cottage).
