This is the view of the valley with Melrose Road running from left to right in the middle of the photo. The house in the center, with the two windows either side of the front door, was built by Harry Nelson in 1921 and it was in the garden shed here that the negatives, from which most of these old photographs, were made and stored from 1945 to 1975. The house to the left of the bungalow is "The Ramblers", see Melrose Road 2. The photograph below, taken during it's re-development in the late 80's, shows the white bungalow a little further down Melrose Road. It has now been demolished to make way for modern housing.
