A little way back from the photographs in 'Main Road 2', to a position at the corner of the land now occupied by the Automatic Telephone Exchange, could be found the Biggin Hill Forge. Here we see the owner and Blacksmith, Mr. John ('Jack') Tremain behind the anvil, with his striker, Bill Beadle, on the left. The Black Horse can be seen in the distance and to the immediate right of the forge is a side view of one of Baxter, Payne & Lepper's property advertising boards.
