Strawberry field now
This is entrance to Strawberry field for hikers, dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists just North of the Aperfield Inn. You will notice the hedge has been cut down to half the height. This distance is how wide the new entrance to the haul will be. The hedge either side of this entrance will also be reduced in height to aid visibility for lorry drivers to see up and down the road. |
This photo shows how close the new entrance is to residential properties and the 'single' pavement along this stretch of road. The entrance is planned to be 'gated' but what will these gates look like?? If this plan goes ahead there will be queues of 33-ton lorries waiting to get into the haul road. |
This shows clearly how much wider the new entrance will be. You will also notice the street lamp in the middle of the new entrance. There has been no mention in the plans as to where this will be relocated, if at all. Can you imagine this stretch of road without a street lamp here? |
This is the existing path leading across Strawberry field. The path is on the right. The area on the left (where the farmer hadn't yet turned the soil over) is the width of the haul road at this point. The wheel washing facility will be located just about in the middle of this photo. |
The path a little further down the slope with the area on the right which would be the haul road. Would you like to walk next to that?? |
This is the view looking North where the haul road will run along the edge of the tree line before it turns right along the Southern boundary of the golf course. |
Looking back across Strawberry field to the entrance (marked with a 'V'). This shot shows how long the haul road, and what a major construction it, is going to be. |
Turning to look North the road continues until the entrance to the bridleway that runs along the Southern edge of the golf course (note the yew trees). |
This is the bridleway, with the golf course on the left, and the haul road will run along side in the field to the right. It will be at a distance of 40 to 50 feet, close enough to spook the horses, |
This is the entrance to the bridleway from Berry's Green Road. |
Just along from the last photo is where the haul road will cross the bridleway into the golf course. This will be a very busy part of the whole operations. |
