Cherry lodge LANDFILL Action Group

Accident: 9th November 2011

To prove, if proof were needed, how dangerous large lorries on the A233, Main Road, are, on the 9th November 2011 two lorries (one being a tipper) tried to pass each other from either direction when they realised there was not quite enough room. The North bound lorry mounted the pavement and smashed through a garden wall straight into a power sub-station, cutting the power to the local area.

The lorry which smashed through the garden wall and into the power sub-station. What if someone had been walking along the pavement at that moment?

All three emergency services on hand.
Police, Ambulance and Fire Brigade on hand

Not even safe in his own home. The lorry could easily have smashed into the side of his house. Thankfully no-one was hurt.
