This 1960's picture shows part of the re-development of the valley at that time. It shows the end of Arthur Road with Christy Road running left to right (note the lorry on Christy Road). This part of the valley was renowned for flooding badly in heavy rain so a flood drain was laid the length of Christy Road to cure the problem.
